For your Bro Have your coach speak with the basketball coach to swap a roster of players and cheerleaders. Obtain a roster of players, their name and nickname, their locker number, home phone number and email address. Obtain their jersey number. Don’t forget to include your mascot!
Ask your coach to cut up the names into individual sheets. Place the names in a basket for each cheerleader to draw from. If there isn’t an even match of people, decide who will get more than 1 brother (or sister). Another method is to seal the names in envelopes for you to open at home.
When brothers and sisters have been revealed, plan an outing together. Nothing big or serious, just a get together to get to know each other. Find out things like his birthday, his favorite color, etc. Meet after practice for pizza or ice cream or before school for donuts.
Some teams that have been doing this for quite some time have traditions of team dinners at a team member’s house or restaurant outings where brothers and sisters exchange an initial spirit gift or flowers.
LOCKER
Call his parents to get his locker combination to decorate the INSIDE of his locker as well as the outside.
Make him get excited to visit his locker. He visits his locker several times nearly every day; talks with friends at his locker; watch people pass by (and maybe even stop there!) Make it colorful, spirited, clean and attractive! He will have that locker all year, make it personal, it will reflect you and him to everyone who sees it.
Season Starter Kit: (Decorate a box or bag)
