Interscholastic camps vary. Your camp intentions should be spelled out when you submit your annual budget.
- Camp Options:
- Residential - housing on campus at a college
- Private - Daily at your facility. Professionally directed by a camp company is our suggestion. If budget constraints just won't allow for professional camp. Hire a choreographer, obtain good music mix and solicit parent help to create the camp experience.
- College - Many of Ohio college cheerleading departments hold clinics - as a compliment to your camp, in place of a structured camp or individually cheerleaders may attend to boost their skills, gain new ideas and become familiar with collegiate cheerleaders.
- Resort - the great getaway. Rejuvinate, think out of the box, bonding at it's best.
You may have a professionally directed camp in addition to a week or 2 of on-site day camp with your teammates.
Team building and skill building will be reinforced at all camps. When choosing a camp, know what your team is needing. Look for a camp that can fulfill your goal setting agenda.
If your school wants to enter the competition arena, you must have specialized training in choreography, spotting techniques for tumbling and spotting for pyramids and mounting.
You may be introduced to the use of props, learn your season routine, learn lifelong fitness and conditioning habits.
After camp each day you must practice, practice. Don't be surprised if there is an evaluation at the end of camp. Use the evaluation to make yourself better, don't take it personally. Have a party to celebrate each other and the start of a new season!
