Membership in OACC today is pretty evenly divided between Youth, Scholastic, Colleges, All-Stars and Affiliates. The results provide invaluable services, opportunities and networking to members through OACC’s communications, web resources, services, professional development workshops, publications, idea sharing, and meetings.
OACC’s strongest asset is membership and the members' willingness to share skills, knowledge, and expertise. You can become an active participant in a number of ways. If you have experience or passion in a specific area or need to bring awareness or change to an issue and want to get involved then contact us. You’ll find activities that match your interests, skills, and availability. You have the opportunity to help determine quality standards and solution-based approaches that make the OACC a successful provider of cheer services and education state and nationwide.
Active members are the ones that make things happen at OACC by participating in and collaborating with other coaches, directors, parents, students, gym owners and competition hosts in the development of a wide variety of activities. The best way to become active is to join a committee. To see what area you might be interested in, read about the structures and philosophies of the OACC. Any Board member will be glad to help you find the area that interests you.
Involvement with OACC Committees provides our members with opportunities for professional growth and networking. It is our goal to make sure members have the tools and resources needed to enrich their career experiences within the spirit arena. We also believe strongly in the support and education of the student-athlete and empowerment for our spirit teams.
Committees meet or communicate to determine ways to bring professional development opportunities to our members. We want to ensure that we provide beneficial opportunities and resources to positively impact our field. The committees work with the other Committees of OACC as partners on many activities. Short-term study committees are often available. Whichever you decide the OACC Committees work together for the common good.
Some of these committees are only open to members, while others are open to anyone who wants to help. The members of some committees are selected by the Nominations Committee (to ensure diversity), while others are open to any volunteer.
We encourage you to get involved and develop your own relationship with the cheer and athletic activities communities.
It is our goal to make sure members have the tools and resources they need to be active members of their area, as well as the State of Ohio.
Make the most of your association!
